The Leave No Trace Awareness Workshop is the third level of training offered by Leave No Trace Australia. The workshop can range from a 30-minute presentation to a full-day event, with experiential-based training in an outdoor setting being encouraged.
TARGET AUDIENCE
These workshops are designed for a wide range of individuals, including educators, children, university students, Scouts, outdoor professionals, trails and conservation crews, recreation club members, and anyone interested in Leave No Trace skills and ethics. The workshop leader can be a Leave No Trace Master Educator, a Leave No Trace Trainer, or someone familiar with the Leave No Trace principles.
WHAT IS AN AWARENESS WORKSHOP?
During the workshop, participants receive an introduction to the skills and ethics of Leave No Trace. The topics covered include the seven Leave No Trace principles:
- Plan Ahead and Prepare
- Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
- Dispose of Waste Properly
- Leave What You Find
- Minimize the Impact of Fire
- Respect Wildlife
- Be Considerate of Your Hosts and Other Visitors
